Although some Americans think that United States Social Security payments arrive at the same time to all retirees, this is not the case. In total, the Administration sends out these benefit payments on four different days of the month.
Depending on which group of retirees we belong to, we will get a check on one day or another. And the June 26th payment is only for a specific group of Americans. Getting this benefit is important for everyone, so we should look at whether we are eligible or not.
For that reason, some of the Americans cannot get the June 26th payment. So if you are not part of Social Security group 4, the June 26, 2024 payment is not for you. There’s no extra reason, since the timing of the payments is set up that way.
Still, this does not mean that we do not get any payments during the month. The Administration sends out a total of 4 payments, as we have discussed, so if we do not have the 26th day payment we may have gotten the payment earlier.
June 26th Social Security Payment Requirements
Not being part of retiree group 4 causes us to not get the June 26th payment. So we need to look at what the requirements are to be part of Social Security group 4. Just meeting two conditions is enough to be part of it.
The first of these conditions is to have an accepted benefit from May 1997 onwards. The exact month of retirement does not matter, but it does matter to have applied for payment after that date. So if you meet that condition, you only have to meet one other condition.
The second and last condition is to reach your birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month. This group is the group of retirees who have birthdays on the last days of the month, so it is normal to collect payment on the last payday. This is the order in which Social Security always pays these types of benefits.
Maximum Social Security payment June 26th
Depending on which category our retirement check falls into, the Social Security payment can be up to $4,873. This maximum payment is only for age-based retirees. Also, it is mandatory to have applied for retirement at age 70 to reach such a high figure.
In the case of Disability benefits, the check can reach $3,822. Even so, it is true that each beneficiary has a totally different type of check and the amount depends directly on his or her work history and other factors.
