U.S. residents, primarily those living in Alaska, will get a stimulus check for up to $1,702 through the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) program. Who will be eligible for financial assistance? Here are the details.
Alaska is one of the most expensive states not only in the United States but also worldwide. So it will always be good for residents to receive extra help, especially to live these months where the winter is harsher. And according to climate experts, the coldest weather of its entire cycle is about to begin, so electricity and gas expenses for heating will increase.
In this state, the economic stimuli that are delivered through the PFD are annual, because by law they are obliged to share certain profits obtained from mining and oil. In addition, they are also required to send energy relief payments.
For 2024, the Permanent Fund Dividend that was approved was $1,403.83, while $198.17 is being added for this energy relief. This equals a total amount of $1,702 dollars, $400 dollars more than what was distributed for 2023.
Official statistics indicate that about 600,000 residents will be able to claim this economic stimulus and get this money before the harsh Alaskan winter begins, as long as they meet certain requirements.
These eligibility requirements to receive the stimulus check are as follows
- Be a resident of Alaska for the entire 2023 calendar year
- On the date you applied for the 2024 Permanent Fund Dividend, intend to remain a resident of Alaska indefinitel
- Not have claimed residency in any other state or country nor have I obtained a benefit as a result of a claim of residency in another state or country at any time since December 31, 2022
- Those who are eligible and have submitted all of their documentation on time will be eligible to receive their payment in the next round, which will be held on November 21, 2024. This will proceed as long as your state is listed as Eligible-Not Paid by November 13.
