Within the month of January 2025, United States Social Security beneficiaries may get two different checks with different amounts. Thus, the payments of each of these checks will depend on the conditions of each American. But what is certain is that if we have these payments accepted we will get them without problems.
We are talking about two different benefits, so not only by having the Social Security check accepted we will be able to have the payment on both days. In order to have access to both checks we need to have the retirement payment and, in addition, the SSI payment. This second check is an extra payment that is not available to everyone.
How to get two Social Security in January 2025?
To begin with we need to be clear that if we do not meet all the requirements we will not be able to get two checks within the January 2025 calendar. So the requirements are:
- Have a retirement check accepted. It does not matter if the Social Security is for Disability, age retirement or for any other reason.
- Have Supplemental Security Income accepted. Regardless of the amount.
- Have Direct Deposit activated. This collection method is the fastest of all and is immediate, so having it activated is key to being able to get the payment in the same month of January 2025.
Knowing all this, we only need to find out at what time of the month we will get our checks. For those retirees with benefits prior to May 1997, the check will arrive on January 3rd. Retirees after that date will have access to the payment on January 8, 15 or 22, depending on their birthday.
Finally, the SSI payment will be sent on the 31st of January. This payment will be the February check, since February 1st is a holiday, the Administration sends it earlier. The SSI payment for January is sent on the 31st of December for the same reason.
As for the amounts received on these checks, each one has a different payment. Thus, Social Security checks can have a maximum of $5,180 in January 2025 and the SSI payment can be as high as $967 per month.
