The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits from the Social Security Administration of the United States follow an established calendar and have very specific requirements. The collection of each of these new checks allows us to organize everything related to our finances more efficiently, but it is true that sometimes the payment can be changed on the day it is sent.
Among other things, the March payment was sent on a day outside the usual calendar. For that reason, some of the beneficiaries of this benefit are still waiting for an SSI check to reach their bank accounts, since the Administration has not sent new checks since February.
So, we will have to wait until next April to be able to enjoy a new benefit, but it is true that if we do not meet all the requirements we will not be able to have the payment in our checking account. Everything will depend on several elements, but if we meet all the conditions the payment will reach our pocket.
New SSI in the coming weeks of 2025
The new SSI payments in the next few weeks of 2025 will leave the Social Security offices on April 1st. On this day, all beneficiaries of this benefit will be able to enjoy the usual check. For that reason, it is necessary to meet all the requirements. If we do not meet the requirements for this benefit, we could lose it, so we have to be very careful.
If we have the payment accepted, we can also lose it, so if our monthly income changes, we must look carefully at the maximum income we can have in order to continue receiving the SSI payment.
Remember that the day the April SSI is sent out is April 1st, but not all Americans can receive payment on the same day it is sent out. To get payment as soon as possible, we must have Direct Deposit activated. This collection method is key to being able to enjoy the benefit on the same day of the month. If we don’t have it, the payment arrives a few days later.
Remember that there are two requirements for this benefit: being 65 years of age or older or having a disability and having a low monthly income. As the SSI check depends directly on monthly income, if our income changes, the Administration can change the check it sends us, with a maximum of $967.
