The first of the Social Security Administration’s July payments to United States retirees will arrive in a few hours. While it is true that it is the first of the retirement payments, it is not the first check the SSA sends out in July, as the Supplemental Security Income payment has already left the offices and most beneficiaries are already enjoying it.
However, throughout the month the Social Security Administration will be paying many different checks to different groups of beneficiaries. Therefore, if we do not get the July 3rd payment we can always get it on a different day. It will depend on which group of retirees we belong to.
In order to determine if this new payment from the Social Security Administration is for us or not, we have to look at the established requirements. If we meet them, we will have a check available to us. If not, we will have to wait a little while until our retirement collection day arrives.
Who gets the new payment from the Social Security Administration?
The payment day is July 3rd. This day coincides with the first Wednesday of the month, which makes all of the Social Security Administration’s retirement payments in July fall on a Wednesday. This is not really important, but it is true that we should take it into account when planning our economy.
In order to be able to collect the July 3rd payment we have to meet two requirements. On the one hand, it is necessary to have the retirement benefit since before May 1997. On the other hand, it is also essential to have Direct Deposit activated in order to get the money on the same day.
It is true that the second of these requirements is not mandatory in order to have the money in the current account, but it is mandatory in order not to have to wait to have it available. So, just having the check before May 1997 is enough for the Social Security Administration to send us the check. However, it is only possible to have it at the time of sending it if we activate this collection method.
