United States Government Announces Changes to Upcoming August Social Security Payments

Although citizens will get retirement payments as usual in August, they may get an extra check from Social Security before the end of the month

Irregularities in the timing of United States Social Security payments are not always bad news. Sometimes, as is the case in the month of August, we find that we will have an extra payment to use for whatever we need. This extra payment will arrive before the end of the month, so it can be added to the number of checks that have already reached citizens.

However, not all Americans can get this extra payment. Remember that each Social Security payment has different requirements and if we do not meet them we will not be able to enjoy the benefit. It is not possible to get the checks from a group that is not ours, so we must check everything related to the conditions. Otherwise, we will get the benefit on a different day.

Upcoming Social Security payments in August

Before the end of August we will be able to enjoy up to 4 more Social Security payments. The usual practice in these cases is for the Administration to send three different checks on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month. But an irregularity causes an extra payment to be added to the August calendar.

Social Security payment days in the next few weeks will be on:

As you can see, the last of these payments is actually the September advance check. For that reason, we can say that there are some changes in the timing of the August payments, although we are dealing with Social Security changes that benefit citizens.

Maximum Social Security Retirement Checks

Each group of retirees has a maximum Social Security check payment. In the case of the age retirement payment, the benefit can reach $4,873. On the other hand, the Disability benefit check can be up to $3,822 per month.

Supplemental Security Income, meanwhile, can have a check of $943 per month. Even so, the payment of this benefit depends directly on the beneficiary’s income. The higher the income, the lower the benefit payment. For that reason, low-income citizens can get this monthly check, since the idea is that they can supplement their income.

Since the Social Security check, either for Disability or Age Retirement, and the Supplemental Security Income check are compatible, an American can get both payments each month without any problem as long as he or she is eligible for both benefits.
