In the next few hours only a specific group of United States citizens will be able to get the new Social Security retirement checks. In case you are in this group, you will enjoy the check very soon. If not, you may have to wait until September to get a new payment or even your payment may have already been sent in August.
Those who are not in the group that gets the new Social Security payment within hours but also don’t have a check for August may still have to claim. In other words, if you are not part of group 4 and do not have your retirement payment in your checking account there may be delays in your benefit.
Be that as it may, this will be the last of the official payments within the September Social Security calendar. It is true that we will see one more payment, but this does not mean it is on the August calendar. This extra payment actually belongs to the September payment schedule and actually the mailing day would be the 1st, but there is an irregularity in the schedule.
Which retirees get Social Security within hours?
This new Social Security payment is sent today August 28th to group 4 retirees. This group is the last to get their retirement checks each month. To get this payment you need to meet two requirements. Check to see if you meet them to find out if you actually get your payment in the next few hours.
The requirements to be part of this group are:
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
- Have a Social Security benefit after May 1997.
These requirements alone are more than enough to get a check for this day. However, to this we must add a third requirement. Those who activate Direct Deposit get their Social Security payment on the same day of mailing. Therefore, today, August 28th, only those who have had this collection method activated will be able to get it. If you have not activated Direct Deposit, the payment will arrive in the next few days.
After this payment, the September SSI will arrive on August 30th, but it will not be until September 3rd that the next of the retirement groups will have access to the new Social Security check, so we will have to wait a bit to see a retirement check again.
