The new Social Security Disability benefits will arrive in the next few days for beneficiaries with a previously accepted check. However, it is mandatory to meet an eligibility criterion if we want to obtain the monthly benefit on these specific days. Retirees in the United States should be aware that the group to which they belong determines whether or not they will receive the check in the coming days.
With the Social Security payment schedule in mind, citizens with a Disability retirement can mark on their personal calendars when in the month they will get their April check. This is key to being able to organize the household economy efficiently and smoothly, especially considering that many Americans receive their retirement payment as their sole source of income.
How to receive the next Disability payment?
With an accepted Social Security Disability payment, we may find that the benefit arrives earlier or later depending on which group of retirees we belong to. While it is true that the payment arrives every month no matter what, it is also true that the day is totally different depending on this information.
Thus, the Disability retirees who are not included in the new Social Security check on April 16th are:
- Group 1.
- Group 2.
- Group 4.
Each group has specific characteristics. So it is a good idea to find out which group you belong to so you can mark the exact day on the calendar when you can get the benefit.
How do I know which disability group I belong to?
Disability pensioners are divided into two main groups. The first is made up of retirees with a check prior to May 1997. The second is made up of retirees with a check after this date. Well, this second group is divided, in turn, into three other different groups.
Therefore, we find the following division:
- Group 1. Retirees prior to May 1997.
- Group 2. Retirees after May 1997 with birthdays between the 1st and the 10th.
- Group 3. Retirees after May 1997 with birthdays between the 11th and the 20th.
- Group 4. Retirees after May 1997 with birthdays between the 21st and the 31st.
As can be seen, the information that marks the group to which the retirees after May 1997 belong is the day of their birthday. With this little diagram we can always know which group we belong to and, therefore, we can know at what time of the month we will receive our monthly retirement payment, whether for disability or for other reasons.
