The January United States Social Security Disability benefit payments have already begun to arrive to American households. Therefore, many recipients of this benefit have already gotten the first of the full year’s payments. However, some other Americans still do not have the payment available.
In case we have a Social Security benefit, whether it is for Disability or not, we could get it on the next 15th of January. But we have to check well the mandatory requirements to get the payment on this day. Not all citizens can enjoy the benefit in the third week of the month, so it is necessary to check the situation of each one.
Thus, by just meeting a couple of requirements, the Social Security Administration will pay us the check for this benefit on this specific day, so we could get a check with the new 2025 COLA added within just a few days. And it won’t matter if the payment is for Disability or some other type of retirement.
How to get the January 15th Disability payment?
One of the things to keep in mind in order to get the January 15th Disability payment is the collection method chosen. If you choose Direct Deposit, the money will appear immediately in your checking account. If we do not choose this collection method, the payment will appear within a few days after it is sent.
In any case, the best thing to do in these cases is to know what the requirements are to get this payment. For the Social Security retirement check we will have to meet two requirements:
- Have the birthday between the 11th and 20th of any month.
- Have applied for the Disability benefit since after May 1997.
If you meet both requirements, you will be able to enjoy this check without any problems. In the case of not being within this group, the payment of the benefit will arrive on another day of the month, so with just checking the complete calendar of payments we will have enough information to mark the day in which the Administration will send us the check.
The maximum disability payment in 2025 is $4,018 per month. But that does not mean that all Americans can get such an amount. Each citizen has a different check that depends on his or her own work history.
