Collectors have it in their sights. Millions of coin circulate in the United States and many of them are only exchanged for something that matches their face value, but there are others whose value can increase exponentially and sell for more than their face value.

Such is the case of certain quarters, which thanks to certain characteristics have managed to sell among collectors for up to 15 thousand dollars. Below, I will tell you which coin it is.

Features of the 25 cent coin

The obverse of the coin features a central bust of George Washington, facing left. This representation is based on a sculpture by Jean Antoine Houdon and includes the inscriptions “Liberty”, “In God We Trust”, as well as the year of mintage.

The reverse features an eagle with outstretched wings, holding arrows in its talons, also facing left, mirroring Washington’s orientation on the obverse, and features the inscriptions “United States of America”, “Quarter Dollar” and “E Pluribus Unum”.

How much is the 25-cent coin worth?

These 1970 Denver minted coins, identified by the “D” mintmark, are remarkable. The Denver Mint produced over 417,341,000 of these coins. Their rarity stems from their brief circulation. This rarity means that in 2023, a specimen graded MS69 will fetch $15,000 at auction due to its exceptional condition.
