Supplemental Security Income is arriving soon to some Americans

Supplemental Security Income is arriving soon to some Americans

A new extra check from the United States Social Security Supplemental Security Income is on its way. This will be the last of the payments for the month of August, but it does not actually belong to this month’s schedule, but is an irregularity.

Only those eligible Americans can get this monthly payment that the Administration will be sending out in the next few days. If we have a monthly Social Security retirement check and Supplemental Security Income payment, this check will be the third check to arrive in the entire month of August. While this is true, we should also keep in mind that we will not have this benefit for the next month.

So, the August 30th Supplemental Security Income checks will be arriving to all Americans soon. At least, the Social Security Administration will send these payments on this day to all recipients. Whether we get it on this day or not will depend directly on the collection method we choose.

How to get the August 30th Supplemental Security Income?

As mentioned above, there are no special requirements to get the August 30th payment. Each and every check for this benefit will be sent from the Social Security Administration to the beneficiaries’ checking accounts. But there is a requirement to get the payment on this specific day.

To be exact, the mailing day is August 30th and getting it then depends on whether we have chosen Direct Deposit or not. This collection method is immediate, which makes citizens with it active able to enjoy a benefit at the moment of sending. The collection method is not only for Supplemental Security Income, but for any other US SSA benefit.

Those who have not activated this collection method should be aware that the money will still arrive, just a few days later. Thus, it is possible that even though the payment of this benefit is a September advance, these Americans without Direct Deposit will get the payment in September and not in advance.

What is the maximum Supplemental Security Income check?

After COLA 2024 took effect, the Social Security Administration increased the amount of money that benefit recipients can get. In the case of Supplemental Security Income, the check can be up to $943 per month.

If we have this maximum benefit, we will not be able to get more money, but we could be in a situation where we get less. It all depends on our source of income. The higher the income, the lower the monthly SSI payment.

It may be the case that at some point we will stop collecting SSI. Even so, it is not bad news to stop collecting Supplemental Security Income, since we must keep in mind that if we stop getting the money, it will mean that we have a greater source of income.
