The benefit paid on February 12, 2025 will be the last for many citizens of the United States with an accepted SSDI check. At least it will be the last for a long time, since even on March 1st they will not be able to receive an SSI payment due to an irregularity in the calendar.
The advantage of all this is that it is possible to know the payment days in advance, so having absolute control of these payment days guarantees a stable economy. In addition to that, getting an SSDI payment every month ensures a steady income to help us pay our regular expenses.
Of course, if we are not part of the group 2 of retirees, we will not be able to get the check on February 12th either, but it’s not all bad news. We should also bear in mind that it is possible that we have already received the February check, since this payment next Wednesday is actually the second one that the Administration sends to SSDI beneficiaries throughout the month.
Requirements for the February 12th SSDI payment
There are two main requirements to be able to receive the payment on February 12th. And among those requirements we cannot find the type of benefit, so it doesn’t matter if our check is from SSDI, retirement due to age or another type of monthly check.
What matters is to have had Social Security payments accepted since after May 1997 and, in addition, to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month. Both requirements will open the door for us to get the payment on February 12th, although if we have not had Direct Deposit accepted we will not be able to get another benefit check in the month of February.
When does the March SSI arrive?
An irregularity in the March calendar means that the Social Security Administration will not send the SSI payment this month. The main reason is that March 1st, the day this benefit should be sent, is a weekend. When that happens, the Administration sends the check on the immediately preceding working day.
For that reason, on February 28th we will only be able to get an extra check if we have had the SSI accepted in advance. SSI is compatible with SSDI, so we could get both benefits every month without any problems. What is certain is that each of these checks has its own amount, so that SSI can be as high as $967, while SSDI can reach $4,018 in this year 2025.
