Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments received by United States Social Security beneficiaries always arrive on the 1st of each month, unless there are exceptions. When there is a calendar exception, the Social Security Administration sends out a check on the immediately preceding business day.
In this case we have such a situation, since February 1st is a weekend day. For that reason, if we have an SSI check we will find ourselves in January with an extra payment at the end of the month. And this payment is not really an extra payment, but it is an advance payment for the month of February.
So, those Americans with accepted Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will be able to enjoy the check a few hours earlier, although it is true that it is necessary to meet another requirement to be able to receive the money immediately.
Who gets Supplemental Security Income (SSI) on January 31st?
The February Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment will be sent on January 31st. This will be true for all recipients, so all payments for this type of benefit can be gotten before next month begins.
However, only Americans who have Direct Deposit active to receive this check will be able to get immediate payment of this benefit. The rest of the Americans will have to wait a few days to receive the Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
Remember that this check is 2.5% higher than the previous year 2024. So benefits have a maximum check of $967. Even so, not all Americans get Supplemental Security Income (SSI), so each beneficiary has a different check depending on his or her individual situation.
The March benefit payment will also be moved up to February since March 1st is a holiday. Therefore, in February we will also have an SSI check mailing even though this month’s payment has been moved up.
