The total number of payments that the Social Security Administration will pay in the month of September is 4. Although it is true that each United States citizen can only get one of these monthly payments, it is also true that it is important to know the day when we will get the money. Who gets a Social Security Administration payment soon?

All of the Social Security Administration’s payment days for retirees in September are:
- September 3rd. Social Security payment for pre-May 1997 retirees.
- September 11th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. It is also necessary to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- September 18th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. Birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month are also required.
- September 25th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. It is also necessary to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.

Why is there no Social Security SSI in September?
As you can see from the payment schedule above, the Social Security Supplemental Security Income (SSI) check does not appear on the calendar. This does not mean that there is no SSI benefit this month, but rather that the payment was sent out last month due to an irregularity in the schedule.
The payment for this benefit is usually sent on the 1st of the month, with some exceptions. When the 1st of the month is a holiday or weekend, the payment is sent by Social Security on the immediately preceding business day. In this case, the payment was sent on August 30th, 2024.
