In the United States, the Social Security Administration sends thousands of checks to retired citizens every month. But it doesn’t just send retirement checks, it also sends other kinds of checks, such as Supplemental Security Income. And the truth is that it is possible to receive both checks, although not all United States citizens who want to receive them will be able to get them.
It is also possible to receive only one of these two checks. But if we are eligible to receive both in just a couple of days, we will have a check for up to $967 on the one hand and another for up to $5,189 on the other. Even so, it is not possible to receive the maximum payment of both benefits, since the amount of one depends on having a low income.
But regardless of the amount we receive from both checks, if we are eligible for both we will be able to receive these Social Security payments next week. The first week of April includes the 1st and 3rd and on these days the first Administration payments of the month will be made.
Who will get two Social Security payments in April?
Although we find that in the first week of April we will have two Social Security payments for retirement and for SSI, we could also receive only the SSI check and then receive Social Security throughout the month. Either way, it’s a good idea to double-check all the payments on the checks for the month of April.
With this in mind, the first two payments we can get in the first week of April 2025 are:
Date | Payment Description |
---|---|
April 1st | Payment of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for all beneficiaries of this benefit. |
April 3rd | Payment for Social Security retirees who have an accepted benefit from before May 1997. |
Remember that it is very important to have Direct Deposit activated if we want to receive the Social Security check on the same day it is sent. If we do not have this collection method activated, we will have to wait a few days until we can finally see the benefit money in our checking account.
In this sense, without Direct Deposit we will not be able to see the Social Security payment until the second week of April, since it usually takes up to 3 days for the money to appear. It could appear over the weekend, but it is true that everything will depend on our bank. The same thing happens with the SSI payment. Everything will depend on our bank and the collection method we have activated, regardless of the amount we get from either payment.
