In March 2025, the Social Security Administration is sending thousands of checks to households in the United States. And for the moment it is only possible to receive one more check, as the March payment schedule will end and we will have to wait until April to receive a new one.
But to be able to get this new check in the next few days we have to be eligible. This payment arrives in 24 hours, but not for everyone, as it is mandatory to meet certain requirements. Only if you meet them will you be able to get this payment, which is coming very soon. Check both the eligibility criteria and the fastest collection method to avoid payment delays.
If you have an accepted Social Security check, you have already met most of the requirements. It is not certain that you will be able to get the check on this 26th of March, since the payment on that day is for a specific group. Once the payment has been accepted, we will be able to get it during the month, but the specific day will depend on the group of retirees to which we belong.
Which group of retirees receives the new Social Security?
March 26, 2025 will be the new day for sending retirement checks. On this day, retirees in group 4 will be able to enjoy direct access to the checks, so we just need to check whether or not we are eligible for this payment.
Citizens eligible for this Social Security payment are:
- Those with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month.
- Those with an accepted benefit from after May 1997.
Both requirements must be met. If we do not meet them, we will not be able to obtain this specific payment, but will receive the payment on a different day. It all depends on which group of retirees we belong to.
The amount we will receive will be different depending on our work history. Remember that in March 2025, retirees at age 70 can get a check for up to $5,180, but the usual benefit is around $1,600. It all depends on the check we have received in the previous months.
Even so, keep in mind at all times that March 26th is the day on which the Administration sends the Social Security check for this group of retirees, but that if we do not have Direct Deposit activated we will have to wait a few more days until the money is available. We will get the check sooner or later, but we must wait a little longer before we can use it.
