The Social Security Administration sends new retirement checks to United States retirees every month. These checks go to different beneficiaries depending on whether or not they meet the established requirements. For each payment there is a different requirement.
Taking this information into account, the Social Security payment depends directly on the group of retirees to which we belong. In total, there are four groups of retirees and to know which one we belong to we have to look at both the year of retirement and the day of the birthday.
And in the next May 15th and May 22nd we will find ourselves with new of these payments to enjoy them if we are eligible. Remember that each new Social Security payment has its own requirements. But it is good to keep in mind that there is always a general rule for each month’s schedule.
So, if we keep this in mind and know which group we belong to, we can always know an estimated date about the day we will get our retirement payment. And this month, the Social Security Administration has already sent two different payments to retirees. But there are still two payments coming soon.
Which beneficiaries get up to $3,822 from Social Security next?
The upcoming Social Security payments appear on the 15th and 22nd of May. Each of these payments is for a specific group. The May 15th payment is for Group 3 retirees. The checks for group 4 are on May 22nd.
To get a clearer picture, let’s look at the specific days and the specific requirements for each of these days:
- May 15th. Social Security payment for beneficiaries with a post-May 1997 benefit and a birthday between the 11th and 20th of any month.
- May 22nd. Retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month and the benefit as of May 1997 get payment on this day.
Therefore, these groups get their payment on the third and fourth Wednesday of the month. And this is a general rule, so it is possible that in the coming months these groups will receive their collections on similar days.
As for the amount, it is true that Disability beneficiaries and Full Retirement Age (age 67) retirees can get up to $3,822. But how much money each beneficiary gets from his or her Social Security check depends directly on his or her work history.
