The beginning of a new month in the United States always means the possibility of getting a new Social Security check, whether it is for Disability or another reason. The important thing in these cases is to always keep the payment schedule in mind, since each beneficiary gets a check earlier or later depending on the group of retirees to which they belong.
So on the first of the September 2024 paydays we will have to meet certain conditions to get the Disability payment. This means that only if we meet the requirements established by Social Security will we be able to enjoy the check on this particular day. Even so, if we are not in this group we should not worry, since there are more payment days within the month of September.
Conditions for the new September Disability Payment
The payment of this new benefit will be on the 3rd day of September 2024. It should be noted that not only citizens with a Disability can access the check. In addition to them, citizens who have a retirement due to age, widowhood or any other reason are also entitled to this payment. The only thing they have to do is to check the requirements.
To get the payment on the same day 3rd of September the beneficiary must meet two conditions:
- Have had the benefit since before May 1997.
- Activate Direct Deposit as a collection method.
This second requirement is not mandatory, but it is recommended. If we do not have this collection method activated, Social Security will send the payment on September 3rd, but getting it on that day will be practically impossible, since it will arrive a few days later.
Other Social Security Disability payments in September
After the September 3rd payment, the Social Security Administration will pay three other checks on different days of the month. These three checks will only go to specific groups of Americans. So we must check the requirements for each day to see if the payment arrives earlier or later.
These are the check payment days for Disability or other Social Security reasons after September 3rd:
- September 11th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. It is also necessary to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- September 18th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. Birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month are also required.
- September 25th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. It is also necessary to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.
Thus, just meeting these requirements is sufficient to obtain this disability payment.
