The last of the United States Social Security payment days in March is closer than it seems. This means that getting one of these payments is not possible if we do not meet the requirements, so after this check we would have to wait until at least April to be able to get a new monthly payment.
The monthly retirement check is always a financial relief for the beneficiaries, but it is also true that it is necessary to know at what time of the month we will be able to receive this check. If we are not clear which group of retirees we belong to, we will never be able to know which day we get each monthly check.
Thus, it is absolutely essential to know whether we are part of group 1, 2, 3 or 4 of retirees in the United States. The Social Security Administration divides retirees into these four groups in order to send the checks on different days and thus achieve better organization. Thanks to this system, the Administration can send the checks in an orderly manner and without delays.
Who receives the last retirement check in March?
Group 4 is the group that will get the last of the payments for March 2025. Therefore, if you are part of group 4 you will be able to enjoy this benefit without any problems. However, if you do not belong to group 4, you should already have the benefit in your current account. If you do not, it means that you will have to claim it from the Administration as soon as possible.
To be part of group 4 we must meet two requirements. The first is to have a benefit accepted since after May 1997. The second requirement is to have your birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month. The type of benefit, the year of birth or the month in which we have our birthday do not matter. The only thing that matters is the specific day of birth.
More retirement payments in April
After the Social Security check was paid on March 26th, we will have to wait until April to receive a new check. Each group will get their payment on a different day, so we should check the payment schedule to avoid mistakes in the organization.
Group 1 will get their payment on April 3rd. Groups 2, 3 and 4 will be able to receive their payments on the 9th, 16th and 23rd, respectively. Remember that if Direct Deposit is activated we will be able to receive payment on the same day it is sent, but if we do not have this collection method activated we will not be able to receive payment instantly, but will have to wait a few days until it is available.
