The month of January 2025 has almost finished the Social Security payment days. Although it is true that the checks for this benefit depend on several factors, in the next week the Administration will finish sending them, so regardless of the group of retirees to which we belong, we will be able to have the check without any problems.

The retirees of groups 1, 2 and 3 already have their retirement checks, since they were sent on the 3rd, 8th and 15th of January. The last group will be the ones to get their retirement check and it will be in the next week. This payment will close the January payment schedule, although it is true that the Administration will send one more check before the end of the month, but it is a preview of February.

Who gets the next Social Security pensioner’s benefit?

This last payment of the month, the Social Security Administration will send checks to retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any given month. Likewise, retirees in this group must have an accepted benefit since after May 1997.

Thus, only this group of Americans will have access to this check, so the rest of the retirees will have to wait a little while to be able to get the check again. Specifically, the Social Security payment after this date will be on February 3rd, although it will only be for retirees with benefits prior to May 1997.

In addition to all this, we should also note that on January 31st, the Social Security Administration will send Supplemental Security Income checks, which supplement the pensioner’s benefit, to all beneficiaries. This payment actually belongs to the February calendar, so it is actually an advance of this benefit.

The age of retirement has no influence on the day on which we get the payment. Similarly, the amount we get also has no influence on the day on which we collect the benefit each month. The only thing that does is the year of retirement and the day of birth.
