If you are expecting to receive your new payment for disability from the United States Social Security in the next few hours, the money may appear in your bank account. Of all the groups of retirement beneficiaries, one group will be able to get their payment very soon, as the Administration is sending out these checks on April 9th.
Just by being part of this specific group you will be able to receive the monthly check, but it is true that there are two mandatory requirements that we must take into account. There is no way to get the payment if we are not part of this group of beneficiaries. After all, the Social Security payment schedule always follows a pattern, and disability retirees can only receive this check if they are eligible.
To be eligible for the retirement payment on specific days, we must take two aspects into account. On the one hand, the year of retirement. On the other hand, the day of birth. In the case of having the payment from before May 1997, the day of birth does not matter. But those retirees are part of group 1, while on April 9th, group 2 retirees will collect their check.
How do you become a member of disability retirement group 2?
The truth is that once we start collecting a Social Security retirement check, we won’t be able to change the time of the month we get the payment. It will always be on one of the four calendar days and there will be no opportunity to modify this information.
However, the advantage of all this is that once we can mark the day on the calendar when we will get the money, we will always be able to know the day of collection or, at least, an estimated date. Thus, retirees are paid on the following days depending on the group:
- Group 1. 3rd day of the month.
- Group 2. 2nd Wednesday of the month.
- Group 3. 3rd Wednesday of the month.
- Group 4. 4th Wednesday of the month.
This is always the case except when the day is a public holiday or a weekend. In that case, the Administration sends the check on the immediately preceding working day. If you are looking to receive the Disability payment on April 9th, you should bear in mind that this is the second Wednesday of the month, so the group that receives the check is group 2.
And in the case of wanting to be part of group 2, we have to take two aspects into account. The first is to have a check for a retirement accepted since after May 1997. The second is to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month. Only then will you have access to the payment on April 9th, which the Administration will send to both Disability retirees and the rest of the Americans in this group.
