One of the big questions Americans ask themselves every month is when they will get their SSDI benefit. This type of check arrives to households in the United States on different days depending on which group of retirees the recipient belongs to.
In total, the Social Security Administration sends out four different checks on four different days. And on any of those days we can get SSDI. So if we pay attention to the requirements for each payday, we can find out exactly when we have a payment for this benefit in June and whether we will be able to collect our benefit on the next payday.
Who collects the next June SSDI payment?
The Social Security Administration sends the SSDI payment on the next June 12th to a specific group of Americans. Only retirees who belong to group 2 can get this benefit. And the most striking thing is that it is not mandatory to have a disability benefit to access the check.
However, it is necessary to have other requirements. If we meet two conditions, the June 12th payment will be ours. The conditions are:
- Have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.
- Have a retirement benefit since after May 1997.
And there are no other mandatory requirements for the Social Security Administration to send us that day’s check. It doesn’t matter if our payment is from SSDI or any other type of retirement. What matters are the two requirements listed above.
Remaining SSDI payments in June
After the June 12th payment, the remaining Social Security beneficiaries will have to wait a little longer to get their benefits. In total, there are 4 payment days for the entire month, but one of them was on June 3rd, so there are only two remaining.
Thus, we find that the SSDI benefit may also arrive on:
- June 18th. Payment for beneficiaries with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month and with a check from after May 1997.
- June 26th. Retirees with a check after May 1997 and a birthday between the 21st and 31st can get check on this day.
Remember, if you activate Direct Deposit, the SSDI money appears immediately in your checking account. If you don’t activate it, it may take about 3 days for the money to appear, although it may take longer, depending on your own bank.
