In March 2025, we will have a higher SSDI payment in the United States than in March of the previous year, 2024. This payment is undoubtedly an economic relief for thousands of beneficiaries, but it is true that it will be the same amount as those received in the previous months of this same year.
However, it is true that for some retirees the Fairness Act may change the benefit check a bit, so it is advisable to keep an eye on our monthly Social Security paycheck, whether it is SSDI or not. The important thing in these cases is to always keep in mind that the Social Security payment will arrive every month regardless of the amount.
So, we can make plans around our monthly Social Security checks, but always knowing that our budget is limited. Of course, if we have an SSDI payment, there are other checks like SNAP Food Stamps or SSI that we can apply for to get a little extra money and enjoy a more comfortable life.
What is the new SSDI in March 2025?
The 2025 COLA arrived last January for United States citizens to increase their monthly benefits. SSDI payments reached a new maximum with checks for up to $4,018 per month. However, it is true that not all beneficiaries are eligible for such a large payment.
Thus, on March 19, 2025, the COLA will appear again on the checks to continue arriving with the same punctuality as usual. Of course, the payment on this date of the month will be for a specific group of beneficiaries only.
If you got a retirement payment in February 2025, you already know how much you will get next time, as long as the Fairness Act has not increased your monthly check. So the new March 2025 SSDI payment will be coming soon for these retirees and will be the same amount as in previous months.
Who receives the new March 2025 SSDI?
The payment will be sent on March 19, 2025, and this payment will only be for group 3 retirees. Recipients of this benefit must meet two requirements. On the one hand, it is mandatory to have had the payment accepted since after May 1997. That is the first of the mandatory requirements.
The other mandatory requirement is that your birthday must fall between the 11th and the 20th day of any given month. This group can receive their SSDI check on the 19th day of the month, but only if they have Direct Deposit activated. Thanks to this payment method, we won’t have to wait a single day to enjoy our retirement check.
