The United States Disability Benefit is one of the most important monthly checks for society as a whole. Thanks to this benefit, thousands of citizens with needs have enough money to pay their bills and buy groceries.
While it is true that not only disability beneficiaries get a monthly check, it is also true that this group is more vulnerable in many ways, so having a secure payment makes for a much higher quality of life.
And in the next few days we may find that, luckily, one of these groups will get the new payment sent by the Social Security Administration. Those eligible beneficiaries with a disability will get the payment in just a few days, while the rest will have to wait a little longer.
Direct Deposit payments for Disability Retirees
The Social Security payment for the next calendar day goes directly to thousands of United States citizens. In order to receive this disability payment, we will have to be in group 3 of retirees. This group 3 is made up of retirees of all kinds, so it is not mandatory to have SSDI.
The two conditions we have to meet to be in this Social Security group 3 are:
- To have been receiving a Social Security benefit since after May 1997.
- To have a birthday between the 11th and the 20th of any given month.
There are no requirements other than these two to be able to receive this monthly check, so that is more than enough for the Administration to send the check to our checking account. However, it is true that we will not be able to receive the payment on the same day it is sent, which will be February 19th, if we have not activated Direct Deposit as our collection method.
Two more Disability payments in February 2025
In addition to the February 19th payment, a citizen with a disability can get another payment before the end of the month. The Social Security Administration sends payments to Group 4 retirees and, finally, to citizens with a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment.
February 26th will be the payment day for group 4 retirees. This group is made up of retirees with a check dated after May 1997 as well as those whose birthday falls between the 21st and 31st of any month. Finally, the payment on February 28th will be for SSI beneficiaries.
This last payment is actually the SSI payment for March, but the 1st of that month is a weekend, so the Administration sends the payment on the immediately preceding working day. It is possible to get only 1 SSI check per month and one retirement payment per month.
It is also important to always bear in mind that the amount we get in the check for disability depends directly on our work history. So the payment could be $1,650, less or a higher amount.
