United States citizens with a Disability benefit can apply for different checks to enjoy a little extra money each month. This extra monthly payment is not available to all citizens who apply for it, but it is common for it to reach the checking account of many of them.
What’s more, thousands of citizens with a Disability who can apply for this extra payment don’t currently have it because they don’t know they can ask for it. So pay attention because you may have access to this check without knowing it. If it turns out that you do have access, just applying for it is enough for the Social Security Administration to send you an extra check each month for your expenses.
Who gets the last check for May’s Disability payments?
The last Disability payment for May 2024 is not actually a retirement payment, as is customary in these cases. The truth is that this payment is actually for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients.
Still, it is true that many of the Disability beneficiaries can have this extra payment to get up to $943 each month. And in this month of May we have double payment of this benefit, since on the 1st of the month the Social Security Administration paid this May check, but on May 31st the payment for June will arrive.
All Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients, whether they are on Disability or not, can collect this check. All SSI payments are sent on the same day to all beneficiaries.
How do I apply for this extra disability payment?
Supplemental Security Income payments only go to a specific group of United States citizens. If we meet these requirements, we can get the payment without any problems. The requirements are:
- Be age 65 or older or have a disability.
- Have a low monthly income, as well as low resources.
If you are in this situation, you will receive the payment in the next week. As for the amount, remember that the maximum payment is $943, but not all recipients get the benefit of that size.
The exact amount depends on monthly income. It is true that it is compatible with the Social Security Disability payment, but if our SSDI payment is too large we could get a smaller check in this situation.
