IRS is warning about the scams in some Tax Credits

Today, scammers are a danger to citizens of the United States, especially when you consider that they can impersonate the IRS and steal all the information and money of taxpayers. And not only that, but every year they invent new systems to steal information and, therefore, to get everything related to our taxes.

If we have any doubts about this, it is best to contact the IRS directly, but it is true that sometimes scammers try to play on the illusion and confusion of taxpayers. When they offer a very juicy Tax Credit it is difficult to resist at least checking the conditions, but it is true that in most cases these Tax Credits are a scam.

The IRS has directly warned that Self-Employed Tax Credits do not really exist, so if we find information about it somewhere, we should not continue with the process to get it, since it is a scam.

Can I get the IRS Self-Employed Tax Credit?

The IRS itself, through the Social X network, warns us that the Self-Employed Tax Credit does not exist as such, so we cannot apply for it at any time. So if you have received a message through Social Media promising you this type of tax credit, you should not go through the application process.

However, we should also bear in mind that we could get some other Tax Credit, but to find out which ones we are eligible for, it is best to go directly to the Internal Revenue Service. There is no safer way to do it.

Remember that there are many so-called experts who claim to work with our Tax Return who are actually scammers. So before giving any expert all our information, we should check in the IRS database that they are really official and legal. At the end of the day, the person who forms and authorizes the documentation is you, so you are responsible for what happens to your taxes and your money.

When does the IRS Tax Season end?

April 15th, 2025, will be the day the IRS closes the Tax Season, so there is still time to apply for a Tax Credit if we are eligible for them. There are many different Tax Credits, but there is no Self-Employed Credit, so we shouldn’t think about it at any time.

If we can’t send all the Tax Return documentation to the IRS before the end of Tax Season, we can always ask for an extension and have an extra 6 months, but it’s also true that in that case we will have to pay the taxes anyway, regardless of whether we have the extension or not.
