From the moment a new year begins, United States taxpayers who have to send their tax return to the IRS know that they have a mission to accomplish. But sometimes that mission can be a bit difficult in many ways. If we take into account that not all citizens know 100% what to do to send their tax return, we can better understand the situation.
Fortunately, the IRS offers a great deal of help to different groups so that they can file their tax returns efficiently. Even so, some citizens think that they are doing everything right but they can still make mistakes. And this, without a doubt, is one of the reasons why the tax refund arrives late. Avoiding mistakes will help citizens to have their tax money in their bank accounts.
How can we avoid delays to the IRS Tax Refund?
To avoid delays in receiving the IRS Tax Refund, we need to bear several aspects in mind. If we bear these aspects in mind, we will be able to get the payment earlier, but only if we are eligible to receive it. In other words, just because we do this does not mean we will get a Tax Refund. It is important to bear this in mind, as this stimulus check depends on other economic factors linked to the taxpayer’s finances.

The IRS therefore recommends two things when sending Tax Return documentation:
- Check for errors in our Tax Return. If we send the documents with errors, we may cause the IRS to have to check everything again and, therefore, we will experience delays in receiving the final Tax Refund.
- Do not omit any documents. All documents related to the Tax Refund and the Tax Return must be included. If we forget any, we may have problems in many ways.
In addition to all this, to speed up the process of our Tax Refund we can send our Tax Return to the IRS electronically. This is a very efficient and simple way of doing it, as it ensures that the documentation arrives on time. Finally, activating Direct Deposit will also help us to get our Tax Refund as soon as possible. This is the fastest collection method of all.
When does the IRS Tax Season open?
The IRS Tax Season has been open since the end of January 2025. We have until mid-April of this year to send in all the documentation and thus comply with our tax obligations. We shouldn’t leave everything to the last minute and should send in this documentation as soon as possible.
If we bear in mind that our documents will be reviewed around 3 weeks after being sent, we can make an approximate calculation of when the IRS will send the Tax Refund to our homes.
