The new United States Social Security Disability checks will arrive in 2025 for a specific group of Americans. Not all citizens will be able to get this check, so it is a good idea to check all the mandatory requirements to get it.
Thus, Americans who want to get the next January 3rd, 2025 retirement payment will have to take into account two conditions. Also, not only Disability retirees will be eligible to get this monthly check. Other Americans can get this payment, as it all depends on meeting Social Security’s conditions.
In addition to that, the next January 2025 payment will have the Cost of Living 2025 added, so the monthly check will be larger than what we are seeing in all of this year 2024. So, not only should we expect a new Social Security check, but we should also expect a Disability check with an increase included.
Who gets the new Social Security Disability?
In order to get the January 3rd, 2025 Social Security Disability checks only one requirement needs to be met. So, you must have had a benefit since before May 1997. And it doesn’t matter if it’s an SSDI payment or some other type of retirement benefit. And it doesn’t matter what age we retire or how much of a monthly Social Security benefit we get.
The only important thing in these cases is to have a payment from before that date. Being within that group, any American will be able to enjoy the payment on January 3rd, 2025. However, this Disability check will arrive on the same day only to retirees with Direct Deposit activated. Otherwise, the money will appear a few days later.
Also, the maximum check for Disability beneficiaries will be $4,018. This amount is not affordable for everyone, but it is true that every American will be able to count on a check larger than the one he or she got in 2024. The COLA will have a 2.5% increase for all Americans, although it is true that until we receive the first of the checks in January 2025 we will not know the exact amount we will receive during the year.
