United States retirees are in for a treat, as new Social Security payments are on the way. These new payments are coming to a specific group of United States citizens who meet a few requirements. In total there are two checks that we can get in the coming weeks.
Once we check the requirements we can mark on the calendar the exact day when the Social Security Administration will send us not just one but two different payments. Best of all, we can get both checks on the same day of mailing if we activate Direct Deposit as the collection method.
How do I get two upcoming Social Security payments?
The next two Social Security payment days are May 31st and June 3rd. It is possible to collect both checks if we meet all the requirements. The two payments are for different benefits, so we can access both at the same time.
For the 31st payment, it is essential to have Supplemental Security Income (SSI) accepted. On the other hand, the 3rd day payment is only for a specific group of Americans. It is necessary to have a check from before May 1997 to access this last payment.
Thus, to collect both checks we must have Supplemental Security Income and a Social Security retirement benefit from before May 1997. This way we will have both payments without any problems. However, only if we activate Direct Deposit will we get the money immediately.
What are the maximum Social Security checks?
If our Social Security payment is for age retirement, the payment can reach $4,873. That’s as long as we applied for the benefit at age 70. If we have requested check at age 67, the payment could reach $3,822 per month.
On the other hand, the Disability benefit can be up to $3,822, which makes it share maximum check with the Full Retirement Age. Still, remember that each beneficiary gets a maximum check and it is impossible for two beneficiaries to have the same benefit.
Finally, the Supplemental Security Income payment is an extra check for Social Security beneficiaries. This payment is $943 maximum per month, which means that some may have almost $1,000 extra to use for whatever they need.
