In the first week of July 2024 we can find up to two different payments from Social Security. This means that eligible United States citizens could get these two payments to enjoy their benefit as soon as this month starts.
However, we must look at all the mandatory requirements, as these payments are only for eligible Americans. The checks will be mailed on July 1st and July 3rd, 2024 and Group 1 retirees and Social Security Supplemental Security Income recipients will be the only ones to get these checks.
In order to collect the July 1st payment, Supplemental Security Income must be accepted. Two requirements must be met in order to receive this benefit. First, you must be 65 years of age or older or have a disability. On the other hand, it is also mandatory to have low resources and low monthly income. The maximum payment is $943 per month.
On the other hand, the July 3rd payment is only for Group 1 Social Security beneficiaries. Group 1 retirees are those who have had a benefit accepted since before May 1997. There is no extra requirement to belong to this group, so that is enough to be able to collect a check on this day. The maximum payment for this benefit is $4,873 for Age Retirement and $3,822 for Disability.
Remember that these days are the days on which the Social Security Administration sends out the check, but not the day on which we get it. In order to be able to collect on this day we need to have Direct Deposit activated. If we have it activated, the payment will appear immediately. If not, we will have to wait a few days for the money to appear in the checking account.
