During the month of March, the Social Security Administration will pay more checks to eligible beneficiaries in the United States. If you are on the list, you will be able to receive the next payment. If you are not on the list, you will not. The payment schedule system is very simple and requires that you meet certain mandatory conditions.
To be part of the group that will get the next retirement payment, we cannot be in groups 1, 3 or 4. Any of these groups are totally exempt from the payment that Social Security will send out next week. It may seem like very bad news, as it means we miss out on one of the payments, but in reality we will be able to collect our benefit in the coming weeks.
Each group has a different payment day. Therefore, in order to control the entire economy around our benefit, the best thing we can do is to get to know this payment calendar thoroughly. Citizens who receive a Social Security check can be 100% assured of a fixed monthly payment, so it’s a good idea to know which group of retirees we belong to.
Who doesn’t get Social Security next?
The next day that Social Security payments will be sent out is March 12th. On this day, three different groups of beneficiaries will not be able to enjoy their retirement checks. If you are part of these groups, you will have to look at the entire March payment calendar.
The groups that will not receive payment on March 12th are:
- Group 1. Retirees prior to May 1997. If we started collection of the benefit before this year, we are part of group 1.
- Group 3. Retirees after May 1997 with birthdays between the 11th and the 20th of any month.
- Group 4. Retirees after May 1997 with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month.
These retirees receive their benefits on different days in March. Retirees in group 1 got their payment on the 3rd of March. Retirees in group 3 will collect their Social Security benefits on the 19th of this month. Finally, the checks for retirees in group 4 will arrive on March 26th for all beneficiaries.
Although the average payment in March 2025 is around $1,700, that does not mean that all Americans will receive the same check. Furthermore, for collection of the 12th payment, we will therefore have to be part of group 2. And group 2 of pensioners is made up of those who have been receiving benefits since after May 1997 and, in addition, have their birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month of the year.
