This initiative to attract new inhabitants, in fact, responds to the need to promote local development and trade.

The truth is that there are thousands of reasons to move to the continent, but the offer of affordable housing and competitive salaries simply for living in these cities makes it an impossible mission to turn down this offer.
Five cities in the United States that pay you to live there
Tulsa (Oklahoma)
Located on the banks of the Arkansas River in the state of Oklahoma, the city has a Tulsa Remote program in which the local government offers up to $39,091,300 to remote workers who decide to move to the area. In addition, they help with the management of a rental contract or purchase of a home and a three-year membership in coworking spaces. These are some of the requirements that must be met:
- Be willing to move to Tulsa in the next 12 months.
- Full-time remote employment or self-employment outside of Oklahoma.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
Florence and Sheffield (Alabama)
Through its program The Remote Shoals, it offers up to $10,000 to people who want to move there. However, they must have an income of more than $52,000 per year in the cities of Florence and Sheffield. Other regions such as Muscle Shoals and Tuscumbia are also included. These are other requirements:
- Have a minimum annual income of $52,000.
- Be able to move in the next six months.
- Full-time remote employment or self-employment outside Colbert and Lauderdale counties.
- Be over 18 years of age.
Newton (Lowa)
It is considered the most populous city in Jasper County, Iowa, through the Newton Housing Initiative program, which offers an incentive of up to $10,000 to new residents who purchase a home valued at a minimum of $190,000 in the city. These are the requirements to apply:
- The incentive is granted at the time and place of the closing of the permanent financing of the home.
- The construction of the house must be completely finished, as demonstrated by the issuance of a certificate of occupancy by the city of Newton. A radon measurement system will be installed in the new home.
- Rental properties are not eligible for the homebuyer incentive.
Topeka (Kansas)
The capital of the state of Kansas and the county seat of Shawnee, offers incentives of up to $15,000 in the Choose Topeka program. Those who can apply are new residents who manage to get a full-time job and buy a house in this region of the United States. These are some of the requirements:
- Move to Topeka for a full-time job.
- Buy or rent a house, for primary residence, in Shawnee County within one year of being hired and moving.
- Complete the Choose Topeka survey after one year.
- Participate in a Choose Topeka immersion program.
- The employer’s application must be received prior to permanent relocation.
Arkansas
The state located in the south of the United States, which borders the Mississippi River, has the Life Work Here program available, which offers up to $10,000 to new residents with the aim of “adding vitality to our growing community.” Those who must get a full-time job and be under 24 years of age in cities such as Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville.
