The moment a United States citizen begins to collect a Social Security Administration check, he or she can know at what time each month the money will be available. This is thanks to the official schedule of payments that the Administration announces at the beginning of each year.
Therefore, we can already know at what time in July the Administration sends the new checks to the beneficiaries and what are the requirements to get these payments. It is only thanks to this official information that we can know perfectly everything related to Social Security retirement collection days.
However, it is true that sometimes we may encounter occasional delays in payments, but it is usual that through the official payment schedule we have all the information under control. If we have the Social Security payment accepted, we will always get our retirement check, either before or after.
Upcoming Social Security Administration payments
Next week, which will be the first week of July, we will have up to two different Social Security payments. The first of the payments will not be for retirement, but the second will be. It is possible to get both checks, but not all Americans will have access to both payments directly.
So check to see when the two payments arrive and what the requirements are to get them:
- July 1st. On this day, the Social Security Administration will pay the July Supplemental Security Income benefit. Only beneficiaries who have the benefit accepted in advance can get this check.
- July 3rd. All beneficiaries with a benefit prior to May 1997 can get payment on this day. There is no extra requirement, so we can get payment on this day if we are part of that group.
Remember that the amount of each of the checks depends on the retiree’s own record. Also, the day marked on the calendar is the day on which the Social Security Administration sends out the check, but getting it earlier or later will depend directly on our collection method.
To get the payment immediately we need to have Direct Deposit activated. This collection method is immediate, which means that the Social Security check will appear at the same time the Administration sends it.
