The new United States Social Security payments will arrive in just a few hours for eligible groups. These groups will have access to this April payment because they meet certain requirements. Regardless of these requirements, we must bear in mind that we will still get the payment during the month, since the benefit payment always reaches the pockets of retired United States citizens.
Thus, those Americans who have an accepted Social Security benefit will be able to enjoy their retirement check on April 9th if they are part of group 2. This group is made up of retirees of all kinds. So both Disability beneficiaries and other retirees will be able to receive payment without problems.
It doesn’t matter if you have a check for disability, for your spouse, for retirement due to age or for any other reason. The type of benefit never influences the day on which we get the payment, since what determines which group of retirees we belong to is the year of retirement and the birthday of the citizen in question.
Social Security payments this week in April
The day on which the Administration will send the new Social Security payments for April will be on the 9th. On this day, the second Wednesday of the month, only retirees in group 2 can enjoy the check. So if you are part of group 2 you will be able to enjoy it without problems.
Don’t know what the requirements are to be part of Social Security group 2? There’s nothing to worry about, as it’s easy to find out what they are. They are as follows:
- Have a check accepted since after May 1997.
- Have your birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.
In this way we will be part of this group, although to receive payment on the 9th of April itself we will have to activate Direct Deposit as our collection method. It won’t matter if we don’t have this collection method activated to receive the money, but it does matter in order to get the payment on the same day it is sent.
How much will the Social Security check be in April?
These payments will be the same amount as the checks sent in the remaining months of 2025. Therefore, the Social Security check we receive in April 2025 will be the same as what we got in March, February or January.
The maximum payment today is $5,108 per month, but it is not common for a retiree to get such a large check. Remember that your payment corresponds to your work history, so depending on your career you may get more or less Social Security.
