Before the end of March, all SSDI Disability Benefit recipients in the United States will be able to directly enjoy a retirement payment. This payment arrives on different days depending on the group of retirees to which the recipient belongs. But whether we are part of group 1, 2, 3 or 4, we will get this check without difficulty during the month.
What we do have to bear in mind is that each group receives its payment on a different day, so if we are part of the group 4 of retirees due to disability, we will have to wait until the last day of payment in March to receive the benefit. The year of retirement is key to determining whether we receive the payment earlier or later, but the age of retirement does not matter in these cases.
On the other hand, the other key element that we must take into account in order to mark on the calendar whether we will receive the payment before or after during the month is the day of the birthday. With these two elements already mentioned, we will be able to mark on the calendar of each month the day on which the Administration will send us our Disability payment. Remember that the SSDI can arrive on the same day as the retirement payment, since the type of benefit does not influence which group you are in.
Who will get the next SSDI Disability check?
The group that will receive this new benefit on March 26th is group 4 of retirees. To be part of this group we will have to meet two mandatory requirements. These requirements are what determine whether we actually get this check on this day or whether we will receive the benefit on a different day of the month.
As this payment is the last one for the whole of March, in order to receive any check if we are not part of the group 4 of disability pensioners, we will have to wait until April, as this payment schedule will start again.
Thus, benefits are paid on the 26th of March to pensioners who:
- Have applied for benefits after May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
To this we must add another requirement in the case of having a payment on the 26th and wanting to receive it on that same day. Direct Deposit is the fastest collection method of all and only if we have it activated will we be able to receive the payment on the 26th on the same day of the month. If we do not have this collection method activated, we can still receive this payment, but we will not receive it until a few days later.
