On April 9, 2025, the United States Social Security Administration will send more checks to eligible disability beneficiaries. This benefit payment can only be gotten by those who are part of the group of eligible Americans. Not all Americans are eligible, since each month there are four completely different payment days.
However, by meeting a couple of requirements, we will be able to enjoy this new check before the end of the week. Some disability pensioners will receive payment on April 9th itself and others will be able to enjoy this payment in the following days. It all depends on both the eligibility criteria and the collection method that the citizen has chosen.
Requirements for the new disability payment
The next of the Social Security payments will be sent on April 9, 2025, as we have already mentioned, and only group 2 retirees will be eligible for this benefit, regardless of the type of benefit they receive. This means that group 2 retirees can receive the benefit without problems, whether they receive the Disability payment or the old-age retirement payment.
Thus, the citizens who will get the payment are those who:
- Have their birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- Have had their Social Security check accepted since after May 1997.
We cannot have the Disability benefit payment on the same day it is sent if we do not activate Direct Deposit. If we activate it, on the 9th day of the month we will be able to enjoy this check to the full, but otherwise we may find that the payment will arrive a few days later.
The rest of Americans will be able to enjoy their Disability benefit on any of the other payment days of the month. In addition to last April 3rd, the administration will send checks on April 16th and 23rd to retirees in groups 3 and 4. Simply being part of these groups is enough to enjoy the benefit without problems.
New amounts of Disability payments in 2025
If we take into account that the Disability retirement payment increased in January thanks to the COLA, we can conclude that the benefit has a maximum limit of $4,081 per month, but not everyone can get a payment of that amount.
Each United States citizen has their own personal amount that depends on their employment history and their personal situation. So whatever check you usually collect, you will get it on the 9th of April if you are part of this group of retirees.
