In less than a week thousands of citizens of the United States will be able to enjoy a Direct Deposit of a new Social Security payment. But not just any citizen will be able to receive this new payment, since it is mandatory to meet certain conditions in order to be eligible to get this check.
Without a doubt, one of the most important payments for United States society is the Social Security payment. There are many families who live with only this check as a source of income. For that reason, among others, we find that having the payment schedule under control is really useful.
So if we take all this into account, we may find that one of the new checks is on its way next week. This will mean that Social Security Group 3 beneficiaries can have up to $5,180 in a direct payment into their checking accounts.
Requirements for Social Security Direct Deposit
Taking into account that there are up to 4 different groups of retirees in the United States on the part of Social Security, we should know that each group collects on a different day. Thus, retirees in groups 1 and 2 already have their money this February, but beneficiaries in groups 3 and 4 do not yet have access to the benefit.
Group 3 retirees will not be able to collect their check until February 19, 2025. On this day, only group 3 beneficiaries will be able to have a Direct Deposit with the corresponding benefit. And to be part of this group, only two requirements must be met:
- Having a retirement check, regardless of the type of retirement, since after May 1997.
- Your birthday must fall between the 11th and 20th day of any given month.
The payment date is February 19th, but that doesn’t mean that we will have the money available on that same day. We must also take into account the chosen collection method. If we have Direct Deposit activated, the payment will arrive instantly. If not, the money arrives a few days later.
More Social Security payments in February
In addition to the payment on February 19th, the Social Security Administration will send out another retirement check before the end of the month. This other check will be on February 26th and only Group 4 retirees can collect this specific payment.
To be part of Group 4, we must also meet two conditions. On the one hand, we must have been receiving benefits since after May 1997. On the other hand, have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any given month.
The last of the payments in the February calendar will be on the 28th of the month. This payment will be an irregularity in the Social Security payment calendar, as it is actually the SSI payment for the month of March of the same year.
