The Social Security Administration of the United States will pay new retirement checks during the month of April to the various beneficiaries whose payment has been previously accepted. The most striking thing about all this is that the payments of these benefits will be sent on up to 4 different days and whether we receive the payment earlier or later depends directly on the group of retirees to which we belong.
But the advantage of having a monthly Social Security payment is that we can know in advance when we will receive the check in the following month. Thanks to this, we can organize everything related to our household finances in the best possible way. After all, many retirees get this payment as their only source of income.
If this is your case, you should know that the retirement payment calendar for April is now available, so you can organize your monthly budget perfectly. All you have to do is check which group of retirees you belong to and once you know this, you can see which day of the month you will receive your check.
Payment calendar for April 2025
Not only retirees with a Social Security payment will get the check in April, as there is an extra payment that will arrive on the 1st. This extra payment is the Supplemental Security Income and if you have been accepted for it you will be able to enjoy it in April as well as the rest of the year.
So, to be clear, these are the Social Security payment days in April and the requirements for each day:
- April 1st. Supplemental Security Income payment for all beneficiaries.
- April 3rd. Social Security payment for retirees before May 1977.
- April 9th. To get the payment on this day, you must have received a check since after May 1997, as well as having a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.
- April 16th. This payment is for retirees after May 1997 with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of any month.
- April 23rd. The last payment in April is for retirees after May 1997 with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month.
Remember that what we see in this calendar is the day on which the Administration will send the check to retirees. Whether or not you get your payment on the same day depends on whether you have activated Direct Deposit. This method of collection is immediate, which means that you don’t have to wait to get your retirement money.
With regard to the type of retirement, it is important to emphasize that it does not matter, since both disability retirees and age retirees can receive the payment if they are within these named groups. Only the year of retirement and the day of the birthday matter when determining which Social Security group we belong to.
