This is the new Social Security payment that will arrive in September

In the coming month of September, United States citizens who have a Social Security check will get their payment without problems, as is common in these cases. However, it is true that some groups will have to wait until the third week of the month to get their money. Likewise, some other groups will have to wait until the fourth or fifth week of September.

In this regard we find that there is one group that gets the first of the payments. That group will have no apparent problems or delays, since the 3rd day of September is Tuesday. Thus, this specific group, that of Americans with a benefit prior to May 1997, will enjoy their check as usual. But the rest of the retirees will have to wait a little longer.

Who has to wait the longest for Social Security in September?

Group 2, 3 and 4 retirees are those who will have to wait a little longer to get their September Social Security payment. To do so, they will have to check the payment schedule and requirements. It is true that the payment schedule follows the usual rules, but it is also true that since September 1st is a Sunday, the first of the payments for post-May 1997 retirees does not arrive until September 11th.

Thanks to this calendar we can know at what time of the month we will have access to the money. Remember that the September Supplemental Security Income payment is sent on August 30th, so there is no check in September. Even so, this does not mean that retirees do not have access to the payment of this benefit in this month, since the money arrives just like in the rest of the months.

Also, having Direct Deposit activated greatly facilitates the speed with which we get the money from Social Security. Whether it is the retirement payment or the SSI payment, the money arrives immediately with this collection method activated. If we don’t activate it, the money shows up a few days later in our checking account.
