Thousands of Social Security Disability beneficiaries in the United States will be able to enjoy a new check on January 22nd, 2025 to use for their regular expenses. However, not all Americans who get such a check will be able to collect on this day. Each group of beneficiaries collects their checks on different days.
The year of retirement and the day of birth directly determine when we will get each Social Security Disability payment. Unless we have a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) check, the benefit payment will come only once a month. If we have this other extra check, then we will get another payment on the 31st of the month, but that payment is in addition.
How to get the January 22nd Disability payment?
In the event that we want to get the January 22nd Social Security Disability payment we will have to take two things into account. On the one hand, the day of the beneficiary’s birthday. On the other hand, the year of retirement.
Thus, these are the mandatory requirements to get this payment:
- To have a benefit since after May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
In this case, citizens who fall within these groups will be able to enjoy the payment immediately if they have activated Direct Deposit. Otherwise, the Disability payment may take up to 3 days to appear. However, it is also necessary to take into account that the payment is not $1,800 for all beneficiaries. Each citizen has a different check.
Can I get this check without having a disability?
The January 22nd Social Security benefit payment is not only for Disability retirees. The payment goes to all citizens who meet the two established requirements. It doesn’t matter what type of retirement you have to get a check, and it doesn’t matter how much.
If your payment is for retirement due to age, you can get the check without any problems. Likewise, you can also get it if you have applied for retirement at age 67 or 70. These data do not affect the day on which you get your check each month.
