The month of August has a slight irregularity in Social Security payments. However, the SSA will send checks for Disability on the usual days, although with an extra payment. Be that as it may, the important thing is to be aware of the payment schedule in order to keep your household finances organized. There are no less payments during the month, but rather the opposite, so we should not worry.
So check well both the upcoming Social Security Disability payment days and the requirements. If we take into account that each day has its own requirements we can say that there is no way to get two retirement checks in the same month, so it is important to check all this information.
Requirements for upcoming August Disability Payments
In total, before the end of August we will find ourselves with three new checks for Disability retirees. These three checks will arrive on the 14th, 21st and 28th of this current month. If you want to know if you are eligible for one of these payments just check the requirements. The truth is that it is not mandatory to have an SSDI, since any other payment is valid to get this benefit these days.
The next Social Security Disability Insurance payments and their requirements are:
- August 14. Retirees with benefits after May 1997 who are between 1 and 10 years old collect on this day.
- August 21. Retirees with post-May 1997 Disability benefits who turn 11-20 years old collect on this day.
- August 28. Retirees with a benefit after May 1997 who have a birthday between the 21st and the 31st will collect on this day.
As we have already mentioned, the rest of the beneficiaries also have access to this type of payment, so if our check is not for Disability we do not have to worry, since the payment will also arrive if we meet these requirements. The SSDI maximum is $3,822, so we won’t get a payment higher than that in August 2024.
Extra payment for Disability retirees in August
In addition to retirement payments, Disability beneficiaries can get a monthly Supplemental Security Income (SSI) check. This extra payment has its own requirements and although it comes only once a month there are irregularities about it as well.
In August we get two of these payments, which means that before the end of the month we get to enjoy an extra check. This extra check will arrive on August 30th and will be for all SSI beneficiaries. Whether we get it or not will depend on whether we have been accepted for this benefit.
The maximum payment for this extra check for Disability beneficiaries is $943 this year. So we can have a good extra amount in case our benefit is accepted.
