The schedule for United States Social Security payments for the year 2025 has already begun to roll out. This means that many Americans who are waiting to get their payment could have their benefit set up very soon. And since each retiree gets payment on a different day it is important to check the terms of each payday well.
On January 3rd, 2025 we will have the payment for a specific group of beneficiaries. This group of Americans is the one that has been getting their benefit since before May 1997. This group is the first to always get their check and it is important to check everything related to the payment before marking the day on the calendar.
January 3rd, 2025 Social Security Eligibility Requirements
While it is true that only one requirement is mandatory to get the January 3rd, 2025 Social Security check, it is also true that we need to meet another condition to get payment on the exact same day.
Also, the amount we will get will not be the same for everyone. Social Security checks are individual, which means that one United States citizen may get a retirement check of more than $5,000 and another may get an average payment of about $1,800.
Be that as it may, let’s keep in mind the following two requirements to have the payment on the same day January 3rd, 2025:
- Have a benefit prior to May 1997.
- You must have Direct Deposit activated as a collection method.
Thanks to having this method activated, the Administration will send the payment and we will receive it immediately without having to wait a single day. Likewise, it is also important to understand that not only old age retirees get this check. Any other type of retiree that is within that group will enjoy the benefit on January 3rd.
After this payment we will have to wait until the 8th, the 15th or the 22nd of January to get the payment in case we are not part of group 1 retirees. So be sure to check which retiree group you belong to so you can mark your calendar for the day you will get your January 2025 Social Security benefit.
