Disability payments for eligible United States citizens will arrive at their homes in the next few hours thanks to Direct Deposit. The rest of the beneficiaries of this benefit will also collect their payment, but a few days later. In fact, the Social Security Administration has already sent one of the checks to one of these groups, so we could even have our retirement money in our checking account by now.
If we are part of group 1 of retirees, the payment should already be available to us. But it is true that the payment could be delayed for various reasons, although this is not usual. If our benefit was accepted before May 1997, we are part of group 1 and the Administration made the Direct Deposit on March 3, 2025.
But if, on the other hand, we are not part of this group but part of group 2, the Administration will send us the new Disability check soon. It all depends on the collection method activated. Well, the Administration will send the payment regardless of the collection method we have, but getting it on the same day or a little later will depend on that collection method.
New Disability Payments in March 2025
The new Disability Payments in March 2025 will arrive on the 12th of the month. The Administration will send the payments on this day, but it is true that whether or not we get them immediately depends directly on our chosen collection method. If we have Direct Deposit we won’t have to wait a single day to receive it.
But if we haven’t chosen this collection method, the payment will arrive a few days later. We will still end up getting the payment, but it may not arrive until the 13th or 14th of March. Even so, for the Administration to send us the check on that day, we have to meet two conditions:
- Have your birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.
- Having received a benefit since after May 1997.
These two requirements make up group 2 of retirees, so it is easy to meet them, and it is not possible to change them. Therefore, if we have a benefit and are part of group 2 of retirees, we will always be part of this group and will receive payment on the second Wednesday of each month.
The check we get can have a maximum payment of $4,108, as that is the maximum payment for Disability in 2025, although that does not mean that all beneficiaries get a benefit of that amount. Each citizen has a different check and getting the maximum payment will depend on our own work history and other factors.
