If the Social Security Administration of the United States stands out for something, it is undoubtedly for giving advance notice of retirement payment days. Thanks to this system of advance information, citizens can find out when they will have access to their monthly benefit check. There is no doubt that it is very advantageous to collect these benefits in this way because it allows us to organize the economy of our household efficiently.
Even so, we must also bear in mind that retirement payments may be late in reaching the beneficiaries. All this depends on the collection method we have activated, of course. Without a doubt, receiving a payment on the day it is sent by the Administration is a financial relief, but we must also bear in mind that without Direct Deposit this will not be possible in most cases.
But leaving aside the collection method we can choose, what is certain is that to get the payment on the 16th of April we have to be on the list of eligible beneficiaries. These beneficiaries are in group 3 and it is compulsory to meet certain requirements. It is not enough to have an accepted Social Security check, we need to meet other mandatory conditions.
List of retirees with Social Security on April 16
Considering that only group 3 retirees can get this payment, it is best to check the characteristics of the retirees in this group. It is easy to determine whether or not we will get this check, so we just need to look closely at the eligibility conditions.
Social Security retirement payments on April 16 will go to beneficiaries who:
- Have had a Social Security benefit accepted since after May 1997.
- Your birthday falls between the 11th and 20th of any month.
There are no other mandatory requirements in this regard, so you won’t have to do anything else to get the check. However, as we’ve already mentioned, whether or not you have Direct Deposit activated will not make you get your retirement payment any sooner or later. With this method of collection, the money will appear immediately in your checking account.
Those retirement beneficiaries who do not have an accepted Social Security check will have to wait a few more days to be able to enjoy the retirement benefit. The Administration will send it on April 16th, but retirees in this group may receive it a little later.
As for the amount, it is true that some Americans may get the $1,600 check, but others may get a benefit of more than $5,000. All this depends on the employment history of each beneficiary.
