The Social Security payment schedule for March 2025 is about to end, which means that households in the United States will have to wait until April to get one of the new retirement checks. So if you have a Disability payment, you may have to wait a week or more to get the new check.
However, it is true that many other Disability beneficiaries may still receive payment in March, as some Group 4 retirees have their retirement checks on the way. So be sure to check the payment schedule because your Social Security payment could be about to arrive or you may have to wait a bit to receive it.
April 3rd Disability Payments
It is possible to receive one of these disability payments on April 3rd but to do so we must meet a mandatory requirement. This requirement is what links retirees to group 1, so if we do not meet this condition we will not be able to receive this payment, but will have to wait a little longer to get it.
Be that as it may, the important thing is to meet the requirement on April 3rd, and that requirement is none other than to have the benefit accepted from before May 1997. If you have been retired since before that month, the payment on the 3rd will be sent to your current account. And it won’t matter whether your benefit is for disability or not, since all group 1 retirees receive this payment equally.
As far as the amount is concerned, in this year 2025 we can see disability payments of up to $4,018, so it is possible to receive such a high amount, but only if you have maximized your benefits in the past. Each beneficiary receives a different payment, so we must take this into account when planning our monthly budget.
More disability payments in April 2025
After the payment on the 3rd, which is only for group 1 retirees, the Social Security Administration will send more payments throughout the month of April. The payments will be sent on the 9th, 16th and 23rd of the month. If you have accepted payment but your benefit is after May 1997, you will receive the payment on one of those days.
Remember that without Direct Deposit the payment does not arrive on the same day it is sent, but takes a few days to appear. Therefore, try to choose the collection method carefully, as there can be a difference of up to 3 days in receiving the check for Disability. The bank can also delay payment, but it is usual that with Direct Deposit there are no problems in this regard.
