Retirees in the United States can now find out when they will have their benefit money available in March. And most important of all, both Survivor and Disability or Retirement payment recipients can get paid on the same days. It all depends on which group of retirees each American belongs to.
Bearing in mind that there are also SNAP Food Stamps payments on the way, knowing the exact day on which we can collect our March benefit is important. Thanks to these two payments, we can have absolute control over our household economy. So pay attention to the full calendar and mark the day on which the group to which you belong can have the money in their checking account.
RSDI payments in March
The payments of these benefits, which actually include all the checks sent by Social Security for retirement, arrive on four different days of the month. Four groups of retirees get their benefits on different days, so we need to know the requirements for each group.
In this sense, this month’s payments can reach $5,180 for the highest payment for elderly retirees. In the case of the checks for Disability, the payment can be up to $4,018. But it is important to know that we are talking about the maximum payment in each case. It is not usual to get such a high check.
Regardless of the amount we receive in our check, the payment of this benefit will arrive on one of the following days:
- March 3rd.
- March 12th.
- March 19th.
- March 26th.
Group 1 retirees get their payment on March 3rd. This RSDI group is made up of all citizens who applied for a pension before May 1997. If your payment is after that month, you will get it on the following payment days.
In this way, groups 2, 3 and 4 will get their payments on the 12th, 19th and 26th, respectively. To be a pensioner in one of these groups, you must have been receiving the benefit since after May 1997. But each group has its own specific requirement. Group 2 has birthdays between the 1st and the 10th of any month. Group 3 has birthdays between the 11th and 20th of any month and the last group, group 4, has birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month.
Activating Direct Deposit can mean that we receive the payment for this benefit on the same day it is sent. If not, we will have to wait a few days, although we won’t have to wait too long, as it usually takes around 3 days for Social Security money to appear in the bank account.
