In the States, the beginning of a new month means the arrival of a new Social Security check for retirees, whether due to disability or for other reasons. Therefore, in this month of February 2025, we find a new check for all retirees in the different groups.
Belonging to one group of retirees or another has its requirements. Each retiree can only be in one group and it is not possible to change the day of collection. But the advantage is that we can know in advance at what time of the month we will get the Social Security Disability payment and, therefore, we can organize our finances efficiently.
The day of the birthday of the retirees, whether they are on disability or not, directly marks the group to which we belong. In this specific case, the payment on the next Social Security payment calendar day will not reach those retirees whose birthday does not fall between the 1st and the 10th. But this is not the only mandatory requirement.
New payment for disability pensioners in February
The payment of this benefit will appear on the 12th of February for group 2 pensioners. This group is made up of pensioners who have a benefit available to them from May 1997 onwards and whose birthday falls between the 1st and 10th of the month.
The year of birth does not matter, only the day of the birthday. Remember that both requirements are absolutely mandatory, so if we do not meet both requirements we will not be able to get this benefit.
In summary, the requirements to get this payment are:
- Have a Social Security check for disability since after May 1997.
- Be born between the 1st and 10th day of any month of the year.
Furthermore, not only disability retirees can get this payment, but any other retiree who meets these two requirements mentioned above. The amount we usually get will not matter, nor will the year of birth of the beneficiary or the type of retirement they have.
