United States citizens who have a retirement check could get another extra check before the end of January 2025. This other extra check is important for many citizens who have no other source of income. Still, it is true that not all Americans can get this payment.
Retirees who can get this payment may have access to $967 at most, but that does not imply that all retirees will have such a high amount. The payment we get from this type of benefit depends directly on our income. The more income, the less of this extra payment we will get.
Be that as it may, we must take a good look at the requirements to be able to get this extra payment not only in January, but in the rest of the months of the year. This payment is monthly, so thanks to this benefit we will be able to have a slightly higher budget to be able to pay our monthly bills and other expenses.
Who can get this extra payment of $967?
The benefit we are talking about is the Supplemental Security Income and this monthly check of up to $967 has two very specific requirements. If we meet them, the payment arrives every 1st of the month, barring exceptions.
The two SSI requirements are:
- Be age 65 or older or have a disability.
- Have a low income, as well as low resources.
It is important to always keep in mind that we must meet both requirements at all times. The first of these is more likely to be permanent, but the second of these requirements can change. If we earn more money at some point, we may stop getting SSI checks. Likewise, the amount of money we get can also change.
The payment for the month of February 2025 will be sent on January 31st. This is because February 1st will be a weekend. When this occurs, the Administration sends the check on the immediately preceding business day. This payment, compatible with checks for retirement and other benefits, will arrive on the same day to citizens with Direct Deposit activated.
