Each new beginning of the year brings with it the new United States IRS Tax Season. For that reason, any citizen who has taxable income has to be aware of everything that happens around the Internal Revenue Service. In this sense, the change in the 2025 Tax Brackets will be important, but for the moment it is more important to focus on the documentation that we will have to submit.
And it is true that thanks to the Free File system, everything related to submitting documentation for the Tax Return is much easier. At the end of the day, being able to do everything without having to physically go anywhere is a great advantage. And not only that, but we will have everything more organized and in the same place in the case of using Free File. And the IRS will activate it very soon.
When will the IRS Free File go live?
The day when the IRS will give the green light to use Free File to start the Tax Season and start sending the Tax Return documentation will be on January 10th. Therefore, in this same week we will have the opportunity to start with all the paperwork to have our documentation up to date.

Remember that doing the Tax Return documentation online has many advantages. Besides the fact that we will have everything more organized and it will be easier to find what we need in the future, doing it through Free File will speed up the procedures, getting the Tax Refund much sooner in case we are eligible to receive it.
Who can use IRS Free File?
Not All United States citizens can use the IRS Free File, since it is necessary to be eligible to make use of this platform. Typically, citizens with an adjusted gross income of $84,000 or less in 2024 will be able to use the system.
If you are in this group, remember to make use of this fantastic IRS tool to avoid delays in your documentation and in receiving your Tax Refund. In case you have doubts about whether you can use Free File or not, it is best to go directly to the official IRS website.
