Although the Social Security payment schedule is really extensive, the truth is that the United States Government only sends checks for retirees on four different days per month. On the 11th day of September, the government will send out checks for Group 2 retirees.
If you are part of this group of retirees, you will be able to have the payment on this day. If not, you will have to wait for another day to get your Social Security check. The important thing in these cases is to determine at what time of the month you get the payment, since you could get it on any of the established days.
One group of retirees already has the payment available. This group is group 1 beneficiaries, who always collect their benefit on the 3rd day of the month, except for exceptions. In that sense, there are no exceptions in September, so we can get this check without any problems if we belong to this group.
Who will get the September 11th Social Security check?
Only group 2 retirees can enjoy this Social Security payment. And to be part of the group 2 of retirees it is only necessary to fulfill a couple of requirements. Therefore, meeting 2 requirements is how we will get the September 11th payment.
The requirements to be part of Social Security group 2 and, therefore, get the benefit on September 11th are:
- Have had the benefit since after May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.

- September 3rd. Social Security payment for pre-May 1997 retirees.
- September 11th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. It is also necessary to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- September 18th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. Birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month are also required.
- September 25th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. It is also necessary to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.
